SEASONAL PROJECTS
Over the course of the year, Family Support Services runs several seasonal projects that help us fill gaps in resources and funding. Your support for these projects has an immediate positive impact on the families that we serve.
Thanksgiving Program
In an effort to adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines implemented by the CDC in 2020, Family Support Services transitioned from building Thanksgiving meal boxes to providing grocery store gift cards for our families. Thanks to our wonderful and responsive supporters, Family Support Services provided $75 grocery store gift cards to our program families in need. This allowed our families to shop for their own meals and remain safe while doing so. You can support this program by making a monetary contribution online or by starting a group project with your company or organization.
We begin accepting contributions and $75 grocery store gift cards on October 1.
Holiday Sponsor
Make the winter holidays brighter for children and their families! We provide you with a wish list for a family in need, and you provide the gifts and/or gift cards for the family you sponsor. This is a great project to share with your family, friends, co-workers, or social club.
Please contact info@fssba.org if you would like to be added to our sponsor list.
We begin matching sponsors with families on November 15.
End-of-Year Appeal:
Our End-of-Year appeal runs from December to January. It is our last appeal of the year, aimed at raising funds to support our programs, and provide them with the funding and resources they need.
For information about the many ways you can continue to support families throughout the year, please email us at info@fssba.org.
Spring Appeal:
In the month of May, Family Support Services runs our annual “Spring Appeal.” This is an email driven donation campaign that allows us to collect gap funding to more comprehensively support our programs.
Summer Backpack Drive:
You can help send a child or youth back to school with the supplies they need to succeed. Donate a backpack and/or school supplies, and we will make sure it goes to a child or youth in need.
Family Support Services gratefully accepts backpacks and school supplies throughout the year if the agency has the capacity to store them, but the greatest need is in June and July.
