SEASONAL PROJECTS
Over the course of the year, Family Support Services runs several seasonal projects that help us fill gaps in resources and funding. Your support for these projects has an immediate positive impact on the families that we serve.
Summer Backpack Drive:
You can help send a child or youth back to school with the supplies they need to succeed. Donate a backpack and/or school supplies, and we will make sure it goes to a child or youth in need.
Family Support Services gratefully accepts backpacks and school supplies throughout the year, but the greatest need is in July and early August.
Thanksgiving Build-a-Meal:
Each year, our wonderful supporters build dozens of Thanksgiving meals for families in need. You can help by building a single Meal-in-a-Box or by starting a group project and donating multiple meals. Please let us know if you are planning to provide meals, so that we can ensure a family in need will receive it in time for Thanksgiving. Meals must be delivered one week prior to Thanksgiving, to ensure on-time delivery to families.
The 2020 Thanksgiving Build-a-Meal Drive has been suspended as an unfortunate result of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Holiday Sponsor:
Make the winter holidays brighter for children and their families! We provide you with a wish list for a family in need, and you provide much-needed gifts for the family you sponsor. This is a great project to share with your family, friends, co-workers, or social club. Please contact us if you would like to be added to our sponsor list.
We begin matching sponsors with families on November 1
End-of-Year Appeal:
Our End-of-Year appeal runs from November to January. It is our last appeal of the year, aimed at raising funds to support our programs, and provide them with the funding and resources they need.
For information about the many ways you can continue to support families throughout the year, please email us at info@fssba.org.
Spring Appeal:
In the month of May, Family Support Services runs our annual “Spring Appeal.” This is an email driven donation campaign that allows us to collect gap funding to more comprehensively support our programs.
