Message from the Board of Directors: Welcoming Our New CEO

To our community,

Family Support Services Board of Directors is pleased to announce Greg Garrett, MPH, as our new Chief Executive Officer, effective November 3, 2025. Greg succeeds Janette E. Drew, who has served as Interim CEO since 2024. We are deeply grateful to Janette for her outstanding leadership and dedication. Jannette will continue to serve as President of the FSS Board of Directors

Greg is a mission-driven leader with more than two decades of experience in community health, family services, and youth development. His proven track record of delivering measurable outcomes for vulnerable populations positions him to bring substantial benefits to the families served by Family Support Services.

Greg’s career highlights his dedication to community well-being. At the Native American Health Center, he opened new opportunities for children and families. He helped obtain over $15 million in grants for NAHC’s community wellness programs. He strategically planned for the financial sustainability of school-based health centers across eight schools, which enhanced student access to medical, dental, and behavioral health services. Previously, as COO of the Bill Wilson Center, Greg led initiatives supporting unhoused and at-risk youth, achieving a 93% success rate in reuniting young people with their families and providing them with stable housing. Greg also led multidisciplinary teams at the Center for Elders’ Independence, improving quality of care for seniors. Across every role, Greg’s focus has remained steadfast: creating lasting, positive change for families and communities.

A Message from Incoming CEO, Greg Garrett: A Personal Commitment to Supporting Children and Strengthening Families

“I am incredibly excited and humbled to be joining the Family Support Services (FSS) team as your new Chief Executive Officer! What drew me to FSS is the profound connection between the agency’s mission and my own life journey. As a mixed-race youth raised by my immigrant mother in a low-income family, I understand firsthand the challenges our families face. The compassionate behavioral health counselors who guided and supported me during that time were a life-changing experience that sparked my lifelong passion for community service.

I see my story reflected in the hope FSS provides to children and their caregivers every day. Providing every child the support they need to thrive and empowering parents and caregivers to create safe, healthy, and nurturing environments that help their children grow up happy and reach their full potential. My background in community health and behavioral services is dedicated to ensuring we deliver this essential support with excellence and compassion.

To our incredible staff, the families we serve, and our partners: I promise to lead with empathy and active listening. I care deeply about building an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued. I’m excited to get started, but more importantly, I look forward to listening and learning from each of you as we move FSS forward. Thank you for welcoming me. I can’t wait to work with you all to advance this essential mission!”

— Greg Garrett, MPH

From the FSS Board of Directors

“As a proud member of the FSS Board, I’m honored to welcome Greg Garrett to this next chapter of leadership. His lived experience and deep commitment to children and families embody the heart of our mission and our community. We’re excited to partner with Greg as he leads Family Support Services into a new era of impact and innovation.”

— Kamara Rose, FSS Client and Vice President, Board of Directors

As we welcome Greg into his new role, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to Janette for her leadership during this transition. Janette will work closely with Greg to ensure a seamless handoff while continuing to serve as Board President, providing continuity and strategic guidance.

The Board extends its heartfelt gratitude to the donors, partners, and advocates whose support makes our mission possible. Together, we empower families to thrive and build a community where every child and caregiver can remain healthy, stable, and connected.

Warmly,
Family Support Services Board of Directors
