Respite / Child Care Program

What We Do: We provide a much-needed break to parents and other caregivers.
Who We Serve:   Parents and other caregivers who need support or whose children have special needs.
How We Do It:

We provide professional care for children in the family’s home, in licensed daycare homes or at specified community sites.

Why It Matters: Respite / child care aims to reduce the stresses of full-time care-giving.

Our services are provided to:

  • Families who have a child with a developmental disability
  • Caregivers raising kin children
  • Foster families who are caring for foster children
  • CalWORKs recipients who are in need emergency back-up when their regular child care is not available
  • CalWORKs recipients whose children are mildly ill and cannot attend their regular child care
  • Children who are HIV-infected or have an HIV-positive family member
