Dear Friends and Supporters
As our Nation struggles to deal with the impacts of COVID-19 we all witnessed a Black man being murdered by law enforcement in broad daylight in the presence of witnesses as he pleaded for his life. This marks the 4th nationalized killing of an unarmed Black person in the last four months. The civil protest and unrest that followed in our Country has been supported by a diversity of communities here in the United States and throughout many other countries.
We at Family Support Services deplore any inhuman treatment of people and believe that in the words of Dr. Martin L. King Jr. “Every man of humane convictions must decide on the protest that best suits his convictions, but we must all protest.”
We urge you to take some type of action to protest any and all disrespectful and inhuman behavior. You can write a letter to your political representatives, attend a rally, sign a petition or help to transform policing in your community. Whatever it is, please do something to promote real change and to create a just and equitable society for all.
We the people have the power to mandate change!
